Open Farm Sunday at Quickes
Visit Home Farm, Sunday 7th June, for Open Farm Sunday 2015
Quickes Traditional is celebrating farming and food this June. This annual national project has been running at Home Farm since 2011. Quickes will welcome visitors to enjoy an array of farming activities, artisan foods and of course, Quickes Traditional Cheeses.
A fantastic opportunity for everyone, young and old, to experience the sights, sounds and smells of the farm – Open Farm Sunday gives a unique insight into the workings of the dairy and the devotion that goes into creating award winning Quickes cheese.
Free to attend and running from 11.00am until 4.00pm, Open Farm Sunday takes place on Sunday 7th June. Visitors can see the ‘Cheese Cathedral’ watch the milking, learn about the New Zealand style grazing system for the cows, see the tractors and other farm machinery, operate the telehandler, trailer rides, farm and cheese tours and sink a couple of cold ciders at Home Farm. Please dress appropriately – wellies recommended!
The Farm Shop and Quickes Farm Kitchen will be open all day for refreshments, as well as the newly opened children’s playground, boasting ride on tractors and a playhouse. Joining the farm team will be Mole Valley Farmers, Pearce Seeds, NFU Crediton Branch, Women’s Farming Union and a host of others.
Crediton Community Bus Service will be running a dedicated shuttle bus between Tesco Crediton and Home Farm throughout the day as parking is limited.
