Spirit of the Exe: Exe-travaganza
Everybody is invited to an Exe-travaganza on Saturday 1st August at Exeter Quay on the Piazza Terracina from 11am.
Spirit of the Exe is a free festival for all the family with live music, stalls, face painting, nature walks, creative activities for all ages, stilt walkers, activities on the river and much much more.
The event will be a celebration of the estuary! It is a globally important site for wildlife, a hub of activities for people to enjoy their leisure time, an area steeped in maritime history and a place of beauty and pride for local communities.
The Extreme Mountain Bike Show will be at the festival, the UK and Europe's number one mountain bike and Trials/BMX demonstration team lead by the Multiple British and European trials bike champion Danny Butler. Come and watch the only show to include ‘bike dancing' and be in with a chance to grab a Show Giveaway.
Learn about the fascinating and beautiful life in our British seas with displays and activities with marine biologists. Come and view the hidden underwater seagrass beds which provide food and shelter for many creatures on the Exe, with the Community Seagrass Initiative. Join one of the heritage tours on the historical Quayside, or explore the natural wonders around the Exe with Devon Wildlife Trust.
Exeter Quay is a hub for recreational activities, so come along and find out more about the fantastic range of Watersports and land based activities that you can get involved with on the Exe.
The ‘Inside Outside Craft Market' will be in the Transit Shed, featuring local artists, craftspeople and makers. There will even be competitions to win some fantastic prizes! Travel by public transport and show your train or bus ticket to be entered into a free draw to win prizes.
There is lots to see for all ages at the Spirit of the Exe festival… and all for free! So come along and take part in this celebration of the estuary.
