Summer 2015: Forest School (i and ii)
Join us for outdoor adventure and campcraft at our Urban Forest School, right here in the city. Our Forest School runs on Tuesday 11th and Thursday 13th August.
If you make all 4 sessions you will be awarded our Camp Craft Expert badge! Meet at the Cathedral entrance (next to the welcome desk) 10 minutes before the start time.
Tuesday 11th August, 10.00-12.00: Tools

Tuesday 11th August, 13.30-15.30: Knife Skills
Map out your safety circle and learn how to use a small pocket knife safely.
Use it to help you make a marshmallow stick for a toasting treat. Finish with campfire games and fun.
Thursday 13th August, 10.00-12.00: Fire Skills
Learn how to choose the correct wood and light a fire safely with our special firelighter flints.
Boil up your own hot chocolate and toast some marshmallows around the campfire.
Thursday 13th August, 13.30-15.30: Den Building
Practise a few knots and decide which is best for the job as you create your own shelter to hide in. Play our survival games and make a craft before ending with a campfire pow-wow, toasted popcorn and a song!
