1940s Charity Tea Dance

We are holding a 1940s themed tea dance at Exminster Village Hall on 28 June 2014 from 4 - 7pm.

Tickets are £10 per adult and £8 for children and OAPs. The price includes afternoon tea and ballroom dancing instructions! There is also a vintage dress code so ladies, it's a great excuse to dig out your pretty floral dresses and gentlemen your hand painted ties and fedora hats!

All proceeds go to CR2EE, a local charity (www.cr2ee.org.uk) raising money to help poverty stricken children in Moldova. Many people are unaware of the plight of the children of Moldova, Europe's poorest country. Most do not have access to good medical services, are poorly fed, and do not have decent clothing. Unemployment is rife and migration is often seen as the only survival strategy. This results in almost a third of children in Moldova growing up without one or both of their parents and being left in the care of institutions or elderly grandparents who cannot adequately provide for them.

Our aim is to raise £2,500 to send at least 50 children in the Borceag area of Moldova to a summer camp where they can spend time just being children, a luxury they seldom enjoy. Play and enjoyment are such an important part of a child's development and wellbeing. We are looking to you for your help in raising this sum. Let's give these children a little part of the childhood they deserve!
