Apprentice Style Charity Event at Tamar Science Park Plymouth
Rebecca Garrett Media Ltd is based at the Tamar Science Park in Plymouth. Every year we like to try and do our bit for charity, so next week (17th-21st December) we will be spending the week doing an Apprentice Style fundraising competition.
Rebecca (or Karen Brady) as she wants to be known for the week has split us into two teams with the goal of raising as much cash as possible for our chosen charity. Our team (Team Quality) have picked Guide Dogs for the Blind as our charity and will be spending the week making and selling cakes, Christmas gifts, car washing and singing for donations (or rather being paid not too!) and we also have a name the toy puppy competition with some great prizes.
On a serious note, the charity receives no government funding at all and help blind and partially sighted people - every hour another person goes blind!! Most blindness is caused by diabetes!
Our rivals - Team One Step Closer (yes, they do sound like a pop group) - have chosen Diabetes UK as their charity and will be hosting a charity lunch next Wednesday at the Moorland Garden Hotel as well as some other activities during the week.
We think it's fantastic and by pure co-incidence that our charities actually complement each other.
Full details of what we will be up to are on our website http://www.rebeccagarrettmedia.com
We hope to see as many people as possible over the week but if you cannot make it but want to help then we hope that you will be kind enough to dig deep and sponsor us via our Just giving page (the link is below). We will be putting lovely photos on our RGM website and Facebook page (the link is on our website) during the course of next week so if you are looking for a laugh do keep visiting it.
