The Lord Mayor of Exeter and the Lord Lieutenant of Devon, Eric Dancer, will be "raising the flag" at Exeter Guildhall at 11am to show support for the country's military community, retired and serving, at home and abroad including the cadet forces.

The ceremony will mark the start of a Grand Parade through the city by representatives from all the armed forces accompanied by the Band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines, The Band of 6 Rifles, and The Corps of Drums from the Devon Army Cadet Force.

From noon there will be a free programme of military music and displays on the Cathedral Green culminating in the spectacular 'Beating Retreat'.

Collections will be taken during the day for the Soldiers Charity, the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, and the Air Training Corps Welfare Fund.

Timings:

11am Exeter's Guildhall - raising the flag ceremony
11.30am High Street - parade
Noon-2pm Cathedral Green - concert

Why not stay for the day and enjoy all the pomp and ceremony of this special day in Exeter!
