COMPLIMENTARY selfie sticks are to be made readily available at The Magdalen Chapter this Red Nose Day. The Exeter hotel want to encourage guests and staff to capture amusing photos while ‘making their faces funny for money.’

On Friday March 13, guests and staff can take pictures of themselves pulling silly faces using the selfie sticks to raise money for Comic Relief. The complimentary selfie sticks will be readily available in the hotel for comical happy snappers to use. The hotel is then encouraging these images to be shared on social media using the hashtag #ChapterSelfie.

General Manager Fiona Moores said: “We are really looking forward to supporting Comic Relief again this year and having a good old giggle at some of the #ChapterSelfie fundraising efforts. As a hotel, we love Comic Relief and we champion the charity’s tireless efforts to tackle poverty globally.”

The Red Nose Day selfie sticks are promising to be a popular addition to the hotel’s iconic weekly Friday Fizz event. Every Friday, The Magdalen Chapter is awash with people enjoying after-work drinks and half price fizz. Where the mood is often relaxed and jovial, the hotel is hoping for lots of amusing #ChapterSelfies.

Guests using the selfie sticks are encouraged to donate to Comic Relief. Those who post their pictures with the hashtag will be entered into a prize draw to win a dinner for two in the hotel restaurant.

The Magdalen Chapter will be selling Red Noses on Friday March 13 as well as serving a special Red Velvet cake with all proceeds going to Comic Relief.

Since its launch in 1988, Red Nose Day has become something of a British institution. It’s the day every two years when people across the UK get together and do something funny for money at home, school and work. Comic Relief spends the money raised by Red Nose Day to help people living touch lives across the UK and Africa.
