Westpoint, Exeter will be transformed into a crafter’s paradise for four days from Thursday 27th to Sunday 30th September.

The Creative Craft Show will take over the venue and welcome thousands of crafters through its doors as trends for mindfulness, upcycling and home-made continue to grow.

Visitors to the show can knit a piece of poppy and play a part in commemorating the centenary of the First World War and Votes for Women. Each 4inch square section knitted at the Westpoint show will help create a giant 13ft commemorative wall hanging to be revealed at The Creative Craft Shows flagship November NEC event (1-4 November 2018).

The Creative Craft show is packed with workshops, talks and demonstrations as well as over 100 stands selling the latest innovations in knitting, cross stitch, paper crafting, jewellery and dressmaking. It’s the perfect opportunity to stock up on supplies or find inspiration for a new mindful hobby.

Rebecca Randall, show organiser said: “Mindfulness is everywhere and for good reason. It’s providing an antidote to our busy lives that seem to be increasingly governed by screens. The show offers people the chance to step away from the screen, get hands on with some new craft techniques and be inspired to take up a new craft – a brilliant, mindful activity that can really help reduce stress.”

Five ways to ditch the screen this autumn:

• Create your own greetings cards using stamps, decoupage and glitter (lots of it) - better than expensive and impersonal bought cards
• Sewing is so on trend - start with bunting and work your way to clothes and home furnishings
• Embrace the mindful benefits of crafting and immerse yourself in mesmerising cross stitch
• Try Decoupage –a growing trend creating stunning pots, ornaments and homewares using specially made papers and glue in many colours and patterns
• No artistic talent needed for the fun and absorbing craft of needle felting. Relax and make brooches, pictures and cushion covers

The Creative Craft Show will have a host of experts on hand to give advice and share top tips as well as a programme of quick and easy workshops and talks.
