Exeter retirees are invited to visit McCarthy and Stone’s Pinnoc Mews Retirement Living development on Bakers Way on Friday 2nd August, when a representative from the National Trust will be giving a talk on the history of Killerton House.

From 11.30am-2pm, all are welcome to visit Pinnoc Mews to find out more about the 18th-century house in Broadclyst, Exeter which was left to the National Trust by the Acland family in 1944. There will be a chance to learn about its glorious landscaped gardens, parkland and estate, while also enjoying a glass of fizz in the Pinnoc Mews homeowners’ lounge. All those who attend the event will also have the chance to win a National Trust annual membership for two.

After the Killerton House talk, visitors can take a closer look at the retirement apartments available at Pinnoc Mews and they can also speak to the McCarthy and Stone and homeowners at the development.

Ciara Hilley, divisional marketing manager for McCarthy and Stone, said: “Killerton House is a spectacular estate and we are really looking forward to hearing more about its history and its hidden gems when a representative from the National Trust visits on Friday 2nd August. We are looking forward to opening up the homeowners lounge at Pinnoc Mews and to extending a warm welcome to local retirees.

“The National Trust talk also presents an excellent opportunity for local people to see how Retirement Living at Pinnoc Mews could help local people to get the most out of their retirement. The team will be on hand to answer any questions, and to advise on how McCarthy and Stone can make moving to Pinnoc Mews even easier.”

Comprising a selection of 39 one and two bedroom Retirement Living apartments, exclusively designed for people aged 60 and over, Pinnoc Mews provides everything homeowners could want for a relaxing retirement.

The shared lounge is perfect for socialising with new neighbours, and homeowners can make the most of beautiful landscaped gardens knowing all the maintenance is taken care of. Selected apartments also include a patio or balcony so homeowners can enjoy the outdoors from their own privately-owned property.

A House Manager takes care of the day-to-day running of the development and there is a secure entrance system and 24 hour emergency call system for added peace-of-mind.

The village feel of Pinhoe combined with the amenities of Exeter make it an excellent place for retirees to downsize to, with its thriving community and proximity to the countryside.

Prices at Pinnoc Mews currently range from £219,000 for a one bedroom apartment and from £289,000 for a two bedroom apartment.

Furthermore, in July and August there has never been a better time to move. McCarthy and Stone will pay stamp duty on selected new apartments at Pinnoc Mews for reservations made before 31st August 2019, provided the completion date is no later than 25th of October 2019. Full terms and conditions are available at mccarthyandstone.co.uk/stamp-duty-paid.
