Family Sci-Fi Fun Day
A Family Sci-Fi Fun Day on Saturday 4th July at from 10am-4pm will help raise funds and awareness for people experiencing mental health problems.
Costumed characters will meet families to enjoy a fun day of activities, stalls and the actors Spencer Wilding, Clem So and Trevor Butterfield.
The Event has been organised by Mr K Wong to take place at the Golden Pond on the London Road in Exeter.
Ruth Wells, the CEO of Mind in Exeter and East Devon said: “I am really grateful to the Golden Pond and proprietor Mr Wong for their support.
“The money raised will enable us to support Samuel who came to us after his anxiety stopped him being able to overcome his panic attacks and get to work. After attending a Mindfulness course he learnt how to observe his thoughts rather than allowing them to overwhelm.”
Mind in Exeter and East Devon supports over 1000 people every year to move along the recovery journey to better emotional wellbeing.
Mind runs one to one support in people’s homes, provide some housing, coordinate the Recovery Learning Community, run two centres in Exeter and Honiton and a Women’s Network in Exeter that supports a Women’s Group in Exmouth.
With one in four people being diagnosed with a mental health problem each year, this is something that affects everyone. Yet too often the stigma surrounding mental health means people do not talk about it enough.
