Flying/Falling dance workshop
In this workshop run by Exeter dance artist Daisy Harrison, take part in a short class, guided improvisations and learn some of the movement content from the upcoming duet ‘Flying/Falling’.
Experience soaring and tumbling first hand in your home or studio. Together we will explore themes from the upcoming duet; an immersive performance, exploring the delicate tipping point between the positive and negative experiences of falling out of balance.
This opportunity is aimed at professional dancers, graduates and students. The movement will be physically challenging, but participants are encouraged to adapt if needed and take improvisations at their own pace. There will be the opportunity to feed back on content and comment on your experience of the guided tasks. This feedback will be used in the on-going research and development of our performance work.
Everybody has experienced the feeling of the rug being pulled from under their feet recently. We question how much ownership do you have over the perception of your experience? Do you choose to fly or fall? Or is the experience out of your hands?
