Gardens open for Devon Air Ambulance
Lapford & District Horticultural Society open their gardens on the 28 and 29 of June in aid of Devon Air Ambulance Trust.
Twelve unique parish gardens can be viewed including the school and allotments. Nine gardens are located in the village, with three about a mile away.
The floral selections range from petite patio-type gardens, to large displays, all with distinguishing qualities from variable soil to an assortment of flowerage. There will be the opportunity to meet the livestock of some of the gardeners, and plants will be available for purchase. Cream teas, homemade cakes, and ice cream complete the experience as the perfect accompaniments to a wander around the gardens.
Caroline Creer, Fundraising Director of Devon Air Ambulance Trust, said: “We are grateful to the Lapford & District Horticultural Society for once again supporting us with their Open Gardens. A stroll through the gardens is a great summer weekend activity, and we encourage everyone to enjoy a day browsing the greenery.”
Gardens are open from 2pm to 5.30pm.
Tickets are available in advance by phoning 01363 83068 or 01363 83763 for £3.50, and from any of the gardens on the day or the Orchard Centre in the Village Park for £4.
Tickets admitting one adult include a map and are valid for both days. Accompanied children are free. Some gardens have disabled access and helping dogs are allowed.
