Tiverton - Guided Walk in the Woods followed by lunch. Event is organized by the Bulworthy Project
Explore the woods guided by a charcoal maker who lives and works within the woodland.

We forage much of our food from our land. During the walk you will identify various plants and fungi and learn about how we use them in food and wine making. Our woodland is primarily managed for habitats and this is made financially viable through making charcoal. By exploring the mosaic of habitats you will gain an understanding of this sensitive approach to woodland management. This includes areas of coppiced and pollarded trees, wild flower meadows and the forest garden where our chickens live. And of course no visit to our woodland is complete without meeting our pigs.

Throughout this walk in the woods you will gain an insight into the journey we have taken from buying woodland, having no experience of woodland management to where we are today. After exploring the woods a great lunch awaits you provided by the Bulworthy Project Barbecue Café.

Bulworthy Project has been awarded gold by Devon Wildlife Trust for working to benefit Devon's wildlife and natural environment and the woods have been described by Devon Wildlife Trust as a mosaic of habitats.
