Library Lates returns to Exeter Library
Exeter Library will host its second Library Lates evening featuring a series of specially curated one-off events. The evening will celebrate the upcoming ‘Unfinished Business: The Fight for Women’s Rights’ British Library exhibition which will open in Exeter Library at the end of April.
From live music, a silent disco, to augmented reality experiences, the next Library Lates theme will include ‘Women’s Writes’ with a line-up of female artists, performances and authors keeping guests entertained throughout the night. Organised by Libraries Unlimited, through its Evolve programme, Library Lates aims to showcase the library and its content in a unique way whilst offering residents of Devon an exciting and interesting evening out.
The evening’s line-up includes:
Maria Ferguson – an award-winning poet, writer and performer. Maria will be performing ‘Essex Girl’ which follow Kirsty’s story, a sixteen-year old girl growing up in ‘00s Essex.
Hyperdawn – experimental pop duo who create their own brand of pop with modified keyboards and DIY instruments.
Augmented reality experience – combined with a performance from author Kim Sherwood in collaboration with artist John Matthias.
Silent disco – with all female DJs.
Library stack tours – tour of special collections and hidden library spaces. Places can be booked on the night at the library.
Moulettes – Hannah Miller will be performing live pop, folk and rock music
Pop up bar by The Oddfellows and food by The Owl & The Pussycat
