Music in the Library with the Belshaw Band

Join us for an unforgettable musical experience as the Belshaw Band takes the stage at Exeter Library on Saturday 15th of July. Exeter based composer Simon Belshaw returns to his roots to explore his back catalogue with his seven piece ensemble. A unique blend of trumpet, saxophones, violins, ‘cello and piano; immerse yourself in the rhythmic power of the music which is infused with influences from various musical genres including baroque, rock, pop, minimalism, and jazz.

Belshaw formed the band while studying at Bath Spa University and honed his craft with Gavin Bryars at the University of Hertfordshire. The current line up includes original members Mike Daniles (trumpet), Cheryl Enever (voice), Julie Hill (violin) and Sarah Lewis (saxophone) as well as local musicians Roz Harding (saxophone), Jane Pirie (‘cello) and Emma Welton (violin).
