Unveil’d returns to Exeter this Autumn, in cultural venues and public grounds throughout the city.

Including both the work of South West based and international photographers, the festival features exhibitions, talks, film screenings, workshops and a book fair. A range of work from acclaimed visual artists and emerging photographers, supported by Unveil’d, will be on view to the public.

Towers, Southernhay, Northenhay & Rougemont Gardens, 17 – 25 October, 7:00 - 21:00; has been curated in response to the fortification of Exeter’s Roman wall in the 13th century. A series of large-scale and visually impactful images will be on show, with work from ten South West based photographers:
Fern Leigh Albert, Brendan Barry, Glauco Canalis, Eva Cooney, Robert Darch, Melanie Eclare, Jessica Lennan, Tim Mills, Jem Southam & Oliver Udy.

Unveil’d Forum, Exeter Phoenix, Saturday 22 October, 10:00 - 17:30; highlights talks by six of the best contemporary international photographers highlighting the new, challenging and exciting works they are making. Feiyi Wen, Jack Latham, Felicity McCabe, Sara Sandri, Maurice van Es and Erik Lovold will present their work.

Book fair, Exeter Phoenix, Saturday 22 – Sunday 23 October 11:00 - 17:00; The book fair will highlight independent and self-published material from individuals, publishers and collectives who celebrate photography and the printed page; visitors have a chance to browse and collect the best in contemporary photographic publishing.

Martha, Dodo Photo, 21 October - 26 November, 11:00
- 17:00; exhibiting multi-award winning photographer Sian Davey’s work depicting her step-daughter. “The work began when Martha was 16 years of age, a time when a child is on that cusp of being and becoming a woman...the idyll becomes infused with all the tensions of adulthood”.

Unveil’d Open, Exeter Phoenix, 11 October – 12 November, 11:00 - 23:00; exhibits Hemir by Matthew Broadhead - a response to astronauts exploration of Earth before they went to the Moon; and Temporary Silence by Jessica Ashley Stokes - a project dealing with escapism.

The Kids are Alright, Exeter Picturehouse, 4 October – 7 November, 12:00 - 20:30; exhibits a diverse range of works from Exeter based Macula Collective.
Talks by: Julia Borissova, Amak Mahmoodian and Paula Roush, The Yard Gallery / Exeter School of Art, Sunday 23 October, 13:00 - 16.30; a screened talk by Russia-based Julia Borissova, introduced and accompanied by Paula Roush of MSDM Publications. Amak Mahmoodian will present a talk about Shenasnameh - a photo-book co-published by ICVL Studio and RRB Publishing.

Julia Borissova exhibiting her book works, The Yard Gallery / Exeter School of Art,13 October – 3 November, 10:00 - 17:00; the show has been produced by ICVL Studio in response to Borissova winning the Unveil’d Photobook Award 2015.

Prominent films dealing with photography; City of God, Friday 21 October and One Hour Photo, Saturday 22 October (both 19.30) will be screened at Studio 74, Exeter Phoenix. The festival will be launching on Friday 21 October (location tbc); with live music in the evening.
