YMCA Exeter opens its door and invites you in
Have you ever wondered what happens behind the closed doors of a housing project for homeless young people? If so, you get the chance to see first hand as YMCA Exeter opens its door to the local community on Thursday 2nd October.
Based on Exeter’s St David’s Hill, yet working across Devon in areas including South Molton, Exmouth and of course Exeter, the YMCA provides a wide range of services for disadvantaged people, particularly young people. As well as supported accommodation for young, homeless people, they also run up to ten Job Clubs every week, help offenders address the reason behind their criminal behaviour both in Exeter prison and out in the community, and provide youth groups in and around the city.
There are two sessions on the day when the doors will be open:- 12pm -2pm and 6.30pm-8pm and you will get to meet with staff members as well as current residents. These sessions will also showcase the work of the YMCA with presentations and refreshments and a buffet will be served at both. The Open Day will be hosted at 39-41 St David’s Hill, Exeter.
Please RSVP to lisa.smith@ymca.org.uk or alternatively ring 01392 410530 and ask for Bethan.
