The Lympstone Jubilee Album is on show at A la Ronde, the 16-sided National Trust property near Exmouth from 11 to 24 April.

As part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 2012, residents from the nearby village of Lympstone created a beautiful textile album celebrating the 60 years of local change during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. Each ‘page’ of the album shows a different aspect of Lympstone and celebrates village societies, architecture and institutions.

The group, made up of past and present Lympstone residents, all with an enthusiasm for textiles, was brought together by Pat Boaden and Jenny Charles. Pat says: "The album, entitled How we were, How we are, Lympstone 1952 -2012, was developed by the group as a whole. We each chose a Lympstone topic or society that interested us and was related in some way to the title.

"As well as being a superb piece of art, it will be a wonderful reference for future generations of villagers who will be able to see what Lympstone was like in earlier times."

Hilary Burrow of A la Ronde says: "Visitors to the exhibition will be pleasantly surprised at the scale and variety of this project. The pages, displayed gallery style each with an accompanying summary, will delight and inform you of changes during this memorable era."

A la Ronde is open daily 11am-5pm, and entry to the exhibition in the stable is free.
