Frontman and songwriter for the three-piece alternative rock band I Am Kloot, John Bramwell – formerly known as Johnny Dangerously – will have two gigs in Devon.

I Am Kloot were shortlisted for the Mercury Prize in 2010 for their album Sky at Night, but it’s not the only time John received heady praise for his work. The Guardian called his 1989 mini-album You, Me and the Alarm Clock ‘one of the greatest albums you’ve never heard’.

It will be a ‘rare opportunity to see a real music legend up close and personal’, says the South Devon Arts Centre, one of the venues John will be playing.

The set will consist of John’s solo material plus that of I Am Kloot.

John’s ‘Northern music pedigree’, runs deep, and for the Exeter gigs he’ll be sharing the stage with Andy Watts, who has toured and played with The Seahorses, Foo Fighters, Beck, John Butler Trio, U2, Green Day, Tindersticks, Natural Born Chillers, Roger Goslyn and Tony Visconti – to name but a few.

Here's a taster featuring one time Doctor Who Christopher Eccleston.
