The band’s journey started in 2003 when Scott Hutchison began playing solo shows under their now-very acclaimed name. Playing and recording all the instruments himself, he founded their trademark sound: a stew of pop brilliance and emotional turmoil. The band’s second album Midnight Organ Fight – recorded by Peter Katis (Mercury Rev, Interpol) – was released in April 2008 and revealed Scott’s soaring vocal delivery and knack for writing emotive, spine-tingling lyrics. Their last album The Winter of Mixed Drinks was released in 2010 to huge acclaim and a new height of popularity, leading to big U.S. and UK/Ireland tours and the recruitment of fifth member, Gordon Skene.

Frightened Rabbit are currently hard at work completing their Atlantic debut album, set for release in February 2013. The forthcoming release was recorded at the famed Monnow Valley Studio in Rockfield, South Wales, with producer Leo Abrahams (Brian Eno, David Byrne, Grace Jones) behind the board.

‘It’d be hard to imagine anyone of any persuasion feeling short-changed by what is witnessed. The already simmering mood is skilfully and methodically brought to boiling point via a near-perfect set list which is concurrently on the nose in gauging and reigniting audience expectations.’

THE SKINNY

‘Soaring choruses and driving lead, drums echoed and high in the mix behind emotive narratives of love and violence and regret.’ * * * *
