John Buckley just needs a guitar and himself to win you over
John Buckley is a 20 year old singer songwriter from Padstow. John’s rather rapid growth in popularity began when he was studying at Truro College, and was content playing open-mic nights and busking on Padstow harbour.
Buckley’s enchanting vocal and unique style shone through these simple, stripped back performances and he rightly gained a loyal following from it. John began uploading song covers to his Facebook page which quickly saw a devoted following grow.
Despite only having three original songs available online, John Buckley has differentiated himself from other acoustic guitar-wielding singer-songwriters in his sphere. He makes catchy, Folky, acoustic-driven Indie-Pop that’s incredibly relatable, particularly with his young fan base.
Buckley has found a nice mixture of Paolo Nutini, Matt Corby, Daughter and Ed Sheeran in his approach to songwriting and performance. BBC Introducing and Radio 1 picked up his own material and spread the word in 2016.
Three releases and a string of festival performances later and it appears he’s on route to big things. John Buckley only has three songs available on Spotify and they’ve already accumulated more than a million streams between them. Tickets avialble at Myticket.co.uk.
