Johnny’s latest album “True North” brought together, the two very powerful factors in his life, music and walking. The album explores Trad music of each county of the North of England. Described by MOJO as a "Psychogeography Field Trip", True North is an album seeking an in-depth, symbiotic conversation between the influence of the landscape, people and the songs with local themes.

Introduced to walking in the hills at a young age by his family, though he felt he was being forced onto the hills at first, he gradually started to appreciate it and felt a connection to the environment. He then wanted to bring the music out into the landscape which influenced his album “True North”.

Johnny is playing on Tuesday 19th November at Bradninch Folk Club - Guild Hall, Fore Street, Bradninch EX5 4NN.
