It is hard to believe that a young musician from a market town in the Midlands could develop a style astonishingly reminiscent of the classic Soul artists of the 50's and 60's, whilst maintaining a sense of modernity and freshness. Yet this is exactly what Leigh Coleman manages to conjure in his song writing and performance. His unwaveringly calm temperament melting with the joyous rhythmic influences of jazz and funk produces songs of emotional openness and a pop sensibility that will resonate with all who hear him.

Now, Leigh finds himself on the cusp of major recognition, and undoubtedly transatlantic mainstream success; all the tender age of 22. Listening to Leigh it is clear he has a vast tapestry of influences, some of which drawn from listening to his parents' record collection at just four years old; his first memories being Michael Jackson's 'Bad' album, as well as George Benson, Luther Vandross, Stevie Wonder and Frank Sinatra.

Leigh Coleman's notoriety as an artist has risen with remarkable alacrity over the last couple of years, and has seen him travel around Europe singing with and supporting Joss Stone during her Soul Sessions 2 tour, and supporting the great, legendary Solomon Burke in February 2011. Having already played alongside many greats, he is now looking forward to making his London Debut with dates at the Ronnie Scotts, the 606 club and the Mostly Jazz festival to name but a few.

Leigh’s Debut EP entitled ‘IT IS WHAT IT IS’ was recorded in Miami. Produced by Jonathan Joseph (Grammy award winning musician; Joe Zawinul, David Sanborn, Joss Stone, Ricky Martin and many more)  and the Godmother of Miami Soul the legendary Betty Wright (multi-platinum selling and Grammy award winning Artist/ Producer ).  The six tracks of original songs (including co-writes with Joss Stone and Betty Wright) are the real deal.  The breathy tones of 'Got what I wanted' , the sunny feel of the title track and the quirky brilliance of the rhythmic track ‘Need You’ will leave you in no doubt, one listen will convince the most sceptical that this young man has been here before
