Moreton Music Day
One Day, Four Stages and Forty Bands, Music Day 2016, Sunday 19th June 2016 is back. It all takes place in The Horse, St Andrew’s Parish Church and the Central Cafe. The programme is packed with all genres of music, some new acts and regular favourites. Its a family friendly day with face-painting, a fabulous raffle and auction.
To give you a taster of the music, there are two stages in The Horse, with bands from all over Devon playing everything from rock, rocky folk, indy, blues, funk, punk and swing. There is even a ceilidh if you like dancing.
St Andrew’s Parish church, with its fabulous acoustics, will host talented young musicians playing piano and harp, your favourite local choirs, a classical ensemble and some beautiful acoustic folk music. One of the biggest choirs in Devon, The Big Noise Chorus, will be performing and the BBC Radio 2 Folk Award nominee, Jacob Riddall. We’ll be welcoming our first band from the US, Daisy House who are performing in a collaboration with DeMalebysse.
New to the programme this year is our stage in the Central Cafe. Featuring talented soloists, duos and trios, you can enjoy some heart-warming acoustic music with your afternoon tea.
All of these events are run on an entirely voluntary basis. Every penny we fundraise goes to our chosen charity MS Society UK.
We’re looking forward to filling Moreton with Music again this year.
