The Pookas at the Old Firehouse
""Muscular and riding on a pack of panthers" isn't how people would normally describe the Pookas!, in terms of how we all look, but as time goes on more and more people are starting to say this about our staggering, and sometimes erotic, musical performances.
Let's face it - any Pookas performance is bordering on legendary, but this is going to be that little bit extra special because our old friend Professor Timian Brierley will be joining us!
Fresh from his lavish London lifestyle, which generally consists of watching the better selection of programs and films on Netflix (we hear that 'The Flight' is well worth watching), drinking tea with full-fat-milk and eating pastries from high quality purveyors of such goods Timian will be boarding a train on Friday and making his way down to Exeter for a weekend filled of Skronk, squash and perhaps foot-long Subways.
There are going to be some frankly stupid musical moments on Saturday - most of this will be fuelled by the epic bromance between Timian and Chris, who promise to 'duel' as often as they can. However, this isn't the only reason you should come to the gig....
Mark has found a new way to do his hair. If you look very closely his curls actually now fall clockwise rather than counter clockwise. When asked about this Mark simply said: "Counter clockwise curls are so 2006."
Kat has recently spent quite some time in a secret religious order - doing some intense spiritual training - this is her first gig with this new experience behind her. It's going to be enlightening.
Johnny 'The Boy From Birmingham' Harrison has a new ride cymbal that is so crisp and clear, it's almost like every time he hits it the division bell is being chimed. We advise you come and check this out in person.
The Firehouse is awesome - we love playing there. The last gig was magical and we are hoping to replicate this again on Satirday night. We would love to see you all, so please come along and say hello!
