Stiff Little Fingers: “Up A Gear” Tour

Stiff Little Fingers take things ‘up a gear’. The band will be touring the UK in March and are currently recording their as yet untitled 10th studio album set for release in 2013.

Stiff Little Fingers were formed in 1977 in Belfast, Ireland.  Along with the likes of the Clash, Sex Pistols, The Jam, Buzzcocks, Undertones, Sham 69, Stranglers, et al – Stiff Little Fingers were at the forefront of the punk movement. They wrote initially about their own lives, growing up at the height of The Troubles in Northern Ireland, in songs like Suspect Device and Wasted Life. In November of ’77, they released those two songs on their own Rigid Digits label, and sent a copy to BBC Radio One DJ John Peel, who started playing it every night.

Support from Ed Tudor Pole

Ed Tudor Pole and his band Ten Pole Tudor enjoyed a number of UK Hit Singles between 1979 and 1981. Ed himself is a descendant of Henry VIII (not many of those have appeared in UK Pop Charts) and initially went to RADA to train as an actor but fell in with The Sex Pistols in 1978 after the departure of John Lydon from the band. He went on to appear in the film The Great Rock’n’Roll Swindle performing his own number Who Killed Bambi, however, 2 weeks into it the Pistols bassist Sid Vicious died, and the rest is history… During the 90’s he appeared regularly on UK TV presenting the TV show The Crystal Maze and now spend his time regularly performing live all over the world.
