Karen Street – accordion

Andy Tweed – saxophone

Mike Outram – guitar

Will Harris – bass

‘Streetworks’ – Karen Street’s latest project features the wonderfully creative talents of guitarist Mike Outram, Will Harris who is fast becoming the South West’s most in-demand bassist and the honey-toned saxophonist Andy Tweed.

They will be playing music from their latest CD ‘Unfurled’ – a collection of original tunes by accordionist Karen Street which further develops her original voice for the accordion.
Her influences are wide ranging; jazz, folk, the inevitable influence of Tango with nods to Central Europe.

Without drums the group has the sound of a chamber group. Each player has crafted a beautiful sound on their respective instrument, sometimes blending, sometimes taking the lead to create an intimate, thoughtful, and occasionally quirky texture that complements Karen’s beautiful compositions.

“Musicians who have given the accordion a genuine voice are rare, but Karen Street is undoubtedly among them. “ – Jazz UK
