Aspects of Love
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s rarely seen masterpiece “Aspects of Love” is to be staged in an exciting new production by the recently formed theatrical production company EX3 Productions. The company, established by local musical director Jeremy Rawlings, secured the rights after weeks of negotiations with the Really Useful Group.
The musical premiered in London’s West End 3 years after Phantom of the Opera, opening at the Prince of Wales theatre on 17th April 1989. The production ran for 3 years totting up a very respectable 1325 performances.
The original cast starred Michael Ball who shot to stardom from being relatively unknown with the hit “Love Changes Everything”. With lyrics by Don Black and Charles Hart and from an original novella by David Garnett the musical tells the story of the entwined love story of 4 protagonists; Rose Vibert (a vivacious ambitious actress), Alex Gillingham (a star-struck admirer), George Gillingham (Alex’s uncle) and Guilietta Trapanie (George’s venetian artist lover).
The company chose the Manor Pavilion Theatre to premiere this new staging due to the special intimate nature of the auditorium and the ambiance that the venue creates for such a production. To the company’s knowledge the musical has not been seen in a fully staged version in the South West of England making this production all the more important not to be missed.
The Independent Newspaper described the show as “…with a score of insinuating beauty and real emotional muscle…” and said “… it is, in effect, a tapestry, or profusion of ingeniously interwoven musical ideas…”
The production premieres on 27th November 2018 and runs for the week until 1st December 2018 at the Manor Pavilion Theatre in Sidmouth. Tickets are on sale now from the box office at the Manor Pavilion Theatre on 01395 514413, http://www.manorpavilion.com
