Exim Dance Company C.I.C. is a professional touring Dance Theatre Company based in the South West of England. ImPACT is a highly original and exciting Dance Theatre exploration into the relationships forged between dancers, people and space.

ImPACT is Exim's first multi production tour featuring the work of well established and award winning choreographer Adam Benjamin, and talented emerging choreographers Olivia Lockwood and Michael Williams.

ImPACT is a triple bill of dance works: (Un)Seen by Michael Williams, Desiderium by Olivia Lockwood and The Birth of Memory by Adam Benjamin.

The Birth of Memory is a collaboration between choreographer Adam Benjamin and composer Eduardo Miranda. The piece draws on a composition by Andy Cowton and the indefinable movement quality of Kevin French (a dancer whose muscles and speech are effected by cerebral palsy). This is Kevin’s first professional engagement since graduating with a degree in Dance Theatre from Plymouth University. The piece also features a sound and video installation by Plymouth artists Kayla Parker and Stuart Moore and original composition by Eduardo Mirander.

Desiderium captivatingly exposes the relationship of four dancers united by the past and driven towards an inevitable future, all suffering a sense of longing for the impossible. This is Olivia Lockwood’s professional choreographic debut since the overwhelming success and accolade for her choreography whilst studying at Roehampton University.

(Un)Seen builds upon a shared physical language between two bodies in space. Choreographed by company dancer Michael Williams this piece marks his move into choreography after an extensive career as a dancer.

Exim are a Plymouth based company known for their unique and compelling performance style and their ability to communicate through physical and theatrical dance movement. A distinctive exploration into human relationships; sometimes refreshing and comical, often exposing and unpredictable.
