Open Auditions for "Rough Justice"
OPEN AUDITIONS For "ROUGH JUSTICE"
A Courtroom Drama by Terence Frisby
Director: Wendy Bishop
Sunday, 11 June 2017 at 2.30 pm at The Blackmore Theatre
Production Dates: Monday 25 – Saturday 30 September 2017 (including a matinee performance on the Saturday)
Although the subject matter of this courtroom drama might be sensitive and controversial for some, the verbal skill of the writer is acerbic at times, periodically tender and certainly will tug at your heartstrings; as a whole it is altogether absorbing. As the Sunday Express critic observed “.. the courtroom interchanges positively crackle”.
The Characters in this play are:
Margaret Casely, QC prosecuting counsel
James Highwood, defendant
Judge, High Court Judge
Jeremy Ackroyd, solicitor to the defendant
Jean Highwood, James’ wife
PC Ramsden, witness (appears only at the beginning of the play)
Dr Simon Kerr, pathologist (appears only at the beginning of the play)
Dr Hannah Radzinski, paediatrician (appears only at the beginning of the play)
Age is immaterial, although James and his wife would need to make a believable couple and other characters appropriate to their occupation, in some cases gender could be altered.
If you are unable to make the Sunday, 11 June auditions and would like to be considered, please email publicity@blackmoretheatre.co.uk leaving your name and contact details. This information will then be passed to Wendy Bishop who will call you direct.
