Crowdcube voted best UK Crowdfunding Platform
The world’s first and most successful equity crowdfunding platform, Exeter-based Crowdcube, has won yet another award in recognition of the work it does to help entrepreneurs and businesses access the funds they need to grow and thrive.
The company was selected as the best equity crowdfunding platform for startups and young businesses at the inaugural AltFi Awards last week.
This is the fifth award Crowdcube has won this year and is a testament to how Crowdcube has empowered entrepreneurs to bypass angel networks, venture capital firms and banks.
The AltFi Awards celebrate the best in the alternative finance space.
They were created by AltFi.com, which aims to reflect the rapid changes within the Alt(ernative) Finance sector, giving everyone involved in this exciting and fast growing sector a unique insight into the very latest developments through a news and analysis service. A team of independent, expert panel of investors, borrowers, academics, statisticians, journalists, advisors and technology gurus were brought together to select the winners across a wide range of categories.
Crowdcube has also been shortlisted by the prestigious Investor Allstars Awards for ‘Private Investor Network’.
Luke Lang, co-founder of Crowdcube says: “So far this year we have helped 73 companies raise a total £24.5 million from a nation of armchair dragons.
"This is 118% higher than the whole of 2013 and we are getting more and more enquiries every day.
"In addition to equity fundraising, we have recently turned the mini-bond market on its head by taking away the complexity and costs for businesses who want to raise growth capital through debt.
"All the awards and nominations we receive are an affirmation of how we are spearheading an innovative and disruptive industry.”
