Everys ventures into the Middle East
Everys Solicitors has agreed a deal to acquire the legal practice of an eminent Iranian law firm with offices in Shiraz and Tehran.
Everys, headquartered in Exeter, will now open a branch office in Tehran headed up by first ranking Iranian qualified lawyer Saeid Salari.
An expert in international trade contracts, intellectual property rights and company law, Mr Salari is fluent in English, French and Farsi and is a member of the Iran Bar Association and the International Bar Association.
Mr Salari’s colleagues provide further legal expertise advising on infrastructure projects, shipping and marine law, trade finance, oil and gas, joint ventures, Islamic finance, import and export of plant machinery, food and beverages, consumer goods and the automotive industry.
The Tehran office will be assisted by multi-lingual UK qualified lawyer and corporate specialist Nazanin Maghsoudlou, who will be based in Everys’ Dubai office.
Educated in Tehran and London, Ms Maghsoudlou has worked for firms in the UK, Iran and UAE; most recently for Trench & Associates in Dubai.
Everys’ managing partner James Griffin said: “With international economic sanctions being gradually lifted on Iran, this leaves the door open for UK and international businesses to begin trading in this part of the Middle East and vice versa.
“Saeid, his team and Nazanin are primed to bridge the gap between cultures and legal systems with their strong understanding of Common Law, Codified Law and Sharia Law to safeguard corporate interests and assets, while maximising business opportunities.”
