Fords receives MCS accreditation for fifth year running
East Devon based renewable energy installer, Fords is celebrating having recently secured the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) accreditation for the fifth year running.
Fords is a long-established, family-run company based in Sidmouth. The company recently passed its annual audit to remain an MCS approved installer of air source heat pumps, biomass, exhaust air heat pumps, ground source heat pumps, solar photovoltaics and solar thermal.
MCS is a mark of quality awarded to companies that can demonstrate their compliance to strict industry standards. It gives assurance to consumers that installers have passed a series of quality, procedural and safety checks. Using an MCS-accredited installer is mandatory for those wanting to receive the Government’s finance schemes and incentives, such as the Feed-in Tariff (FIT) and the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI).
With a steady decline in the number of MCS accredited installers over the last two years it will be reassuring to East Devon homeowners that a trusted and long-established company remains committed to the scheme and to the installation of renewables.
Mike Ford, Director, comments: “We’re delighted that we’ve passed our annual MCS audit again this year. Despite the uncertainties in the renewable energy market we believe it’s important to continue delivering renewable energy solutions and enabling our customers to enjoy the benefits they bring.”
“Being an MCS accredited installer gives our customers assurance that their installation will be of the highest quality.”
As well as installing renewable technologies Fords provides a complete trades service to homeowners across East Devon including heating, plumbing, electrics and kitchen/bathroom installation.
