SW law firm in running to become National Public Champion
Leading South West firm in running to become national public champion in Europe’s largest business competition
Leading South West law firm Stephens Scown LLP hopes to gain public backing to become the ‘National Public Champion’ for the UK in this year’s European Business Awards.
The company has posted a video online at www.businessawardseurope.com telling the unique story of its business, focussing on how important its home in Devon and Cornwall is and explaining how its clients and staff have inspired the firm to change and improve. The firm hopes the video will inspire the general public to vote for them in the European Business Awards.
Robert Camp, managing partner of Stephens Scown says: “We have until 1 March for people to watch our video and vote for us to be the National Public Champion for the UK. This vote means a lot as we are very proud of our home in Devon and Cornwall, so to have public approval of our success and have a South West winner in the public vote would be wonderful.”
Stephens Scown has offices in Exeter, St Austell and Truro and employs over 290 people. The firm is proud of its home in Devon and Cornwall, and has championed the regions in its award-winning Love Where You Live campaign, which celebrates the region and its fantastic businesses. It has also recently implemented a ground-breaking shared ownership scheme based on the John Lewis model and is one of the first law firms to do so.
Other South West firms in the running include Somerset cheese producer Wyke Farms.
The public vote sees over 350 National Champions competing against each other in 34 countries across Europe. The company with the most votes in each country by 1 March will be named ‘National Public Champion’ on 6 March 2017.
After the National Public Champions have been decided, a second public vote will take place between the country winners for the title of ‘European Public Champion’. The voting for this takes place between 6 March and 27 April, and the result will be announced at the European Business Awards Gala Final in Spring.
Adrian Tripp, CEO of the European Business Awards said: “Last year the public vote generated over 227,000 votes from across the globe. It is a very important part of the Awards as it gives these fantastic companies another way of showing their achievements. So please have a look at our web site and cast your vote!”
The European Business Awards was set up to support the development of a stronger and more successful business community throughout Europe. This year it engaged with over 33,000 businesses from 34 countries.
