Crediton firm recruits following growth investment
The installation of a new press at Hedgerow Print in Crediton represents the largest single investment in the Company’s 26-year history.
The new Komori LS529 press significantly increases the Company’s capacity as it runs at more than twice the speed of the previous press. The built-in UV ink and lamp system, dries sheets as they leave the press, further increasing the speed of production.
Having been voted UK Environment Focused Printing Firm of the Year in 2014, the Company’s environmental credentials will now be further enhanced, as they no longer need to use spray powder to aid drying.
“This new press represents a significant investment for the Company,” said Gary Radford, Managing Director, “and takes us into a whole new area where we can print as efficiently as, and are able to compete with, any other printer in the country, and offer our customers an even better service.”
The new press was installed by West Park Graphics in Leeds and is thought to be the first of its kind in Devon and Cornwall as well as being one of the first in the UK to be supplied through a dealer.
Part of the funding for the equipment has been provided through the Government’s Regional Growth Fund initiative and in return Hedgerow Print will be recruiting, and training, two additional members of staff.
“We have already trained up an additional machine minder in anticipation of running double day shifts,” continued Gary, “but overall the greatest advantage of this investment is simply that it makes us better at what we do and that can only be of benefit to all our customers.”
Customer service has always been at the heart of Hedgerow Print and the first job completed on the new press was appropriately for a long-standing and local customer, Lapford based Rose Removals.
Hedgerow Print offer a wide range of environmentally friendly printing services from their modern, facility in Crediton, including digital and large format printing as well as the highly efficient lithographic print from the new press.
