Princesshay has today announced local charity, Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) as its 2017 charity partner.

Each year the shopping destination supports a different local charity. This year Princesshay hopes to help raise awareness that CHSW are the children’s hospice for local families in the Exeter area, through fundraising and events.

Children’s Hospice South West helps and supports children with life-limiting conditions. The charity has three hospices across the South West, including Little Bridge House in Devon, Little Harbour in Cornwall and Charlton Farm near Bristol. The centres provide respite care and support for children and their families who have to cope with the most difficult of situations.

Princesshay Centre Director, Wayne Pearce said: “Children’s Hospice South West is a local charity providing excellent support and facilities for children and their families. This partnership is not just about raising funds but also aims to put a spotlight on the charity, helping raise their profile throughout 2017. It is a privilege to be working with them.”

Princesshay will look to support CHSW throughout the year involving them in headline events including the Spring Spree, EATS at Princesshay and Christmas activity as well as running a car raffle working with Toyota and sponsoring one of the charities key events in Exeter, the Rainbow Run at Westpoint arena on Saturday 10th June 2017.

Naomi Dymond, Corporate Fundraiser at Children’s Hospice South West, said: “We’re thrilled to have been chosen as Princesshay’s charity of the year. Children’s Hospice South West is reliant on the generosity and efforts of the local community to support our work and help us to deliver our promise to make the most of short and precious lives across the South West.”

During 2016, Princesshay supported The Exeter Deaf Academy as its charity of the year, helping to raise over £18,000 for the charity.
