Thank You Exeter! More than 100 local businesses, schools and organisation took part in our Bring a £1 Day.

You may have seen our fundraising team at Princesshay, wearing our new logo t-shirts and standing by our giant big pink collecting hat, kindly made by Brightsea Printers.

Lots of people said hello and donated a £1 and some local businesses came by to pop their staff collection into our Hospiscare hat. Children were intrigued to peer into the hat. Radio Exe and singer Jimmy Ireland joined us during the day to liven up the event.

Sarah Smith, our community fundraising manager, said: “We are so grateful to everyone who came along and supported Bring a £1 Day. The collective power of those pounds will enable us to continue to provide expert end of life care in Exeter, East and Mid Devon.

“We hope that this annual fundraising day will become a date in local people’s diaries, it’s such a simple way to raise money for their local hospice.

We want to say a big thank you to more than 100 businesses, schools and organisations who have supported us this year and we’d love to see that number grow in 2016.”

Bucket collections were also held in Honiton, Lidl in Okehampton and at Exeter’s Tesco superstore.
