Thomson Reuters pledges support for children's charity
Thomson Reuters, the world’s leading provider of intelligent information for businesses and professionals, has pledged another year of support to Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) by signing up to sponsor one of the colour zones at this year’s popular Rainbow Run.
Digita chose the Children’s Hospice as its nominated charity for 2015 and has pledged to continue the support by extending its fund-raising efforts throughout 2016.
CHSW provides hospice care for children with life-limiting conditions and their whole family across the South West. The care is wide-ranging and includes respite and short breaks, emergency care, palliative care and end of life care. “We are thrilled to have the support of Digita for our Exeter Rainbow Run this year. This is a very special year for Children’s Hospice South West as we celebrate our 25th Anniversary, so this year’s run is set to be our biggest and best yet!” said Naomi Dymond, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser for the Hospice.
The Rainbow Run will take place at Exeter Racecourse on Saturday 11, June and participants can walk, jog or run their way through five kilometres of colour explosion. Everyone wears white and is showered with vibrant coloured powder paint at each Rainbow Zone.
Naomi added: “We rely almost entirely on voluntary donations so, without the support of businesses such as Digita, we simply couldn’t continue to be there for life-limited children and their families across the South West. Thank you everyone, for helping us to make the most of these short and precious lives.”
Digita, is part of the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters and delivers time-saving efficiencies to over 2,000 tax and accountancy practices in the UK and Ireland. During 2015, the company organised a number of events including a bake off, the Digita Wii Olympics and a Christmas Hamper raffle, raising in excess of £1500 for the Hospice.
“We’re really excited to be joining in this year’s Rainbow Run. As well as sponsoring the Pink colour station, we are also getting a team of runners together to take part and we are already looking forward to a fun day and raising money for a great cause.” said Andrew Flanagan, managing director, Digita.
“The work the Hospice does is so important to the young people who need care and their families. We are looking forward to organising a series of events throughout the year to help raise the vital funds they need to continue its excellent work.”
Anyone over the age of five years can enter the Rainbow Run and special discounts are also available for teams and families. For more information and to register online, visit www.chsw.org.uk/rainbowexeter
