Firms combine talents to bring festive cheer to Exeter shoppers
Top 40 accountants Bishop Fleming and Top 200 lawyers Stephens Scown, both with head offices based in Exeter, joined forces last Friday (16 December) to bring Christmas cheer to the shoppers of Princesshay.
The firms' choirs, ABBA-cus (Bishop Fleming) and The Rolling Scowns (Stephens Scown) provided a joint performance of Christmas songs to help Exeter shoppers get into the festive spirit whilst also raising valuable funds for Age UK Exeter.
A total of £209.72 was raised for the charity during the hour-long carol recital.
Barbara Wood, HR Director and member of Bishop Fleming's choir ABBA-cus commented: "We were delighted to be invited to join forces with Stephens Scown to entertain the shoppers in Princesshay and also raise much needed funds for Age UK Exeter. Research has shown that performing as part of a choir has stress-busting qualities so we are thrilled to have formed ABBA-cus and encourage our staff to participate under the excellent guidance of Musical Directors Alan Boxer and Sue Wilson."
Robert Camp, Stephens Scown's Managing Partner and a member of its choir The Rolling Scowns added: "We had a wonderful time singing with our friends from Bishop Fleming. Singing in the choir never fails to lift my spirits and to be able to entertain Christmas shoppers in Princesshay and raise vital funds for Age UK Exeter just made it even better."
