Motorist dies following Teign Valley crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a driver died on Sunday night following a crash in South Devon.

A spokesman for Devon & Cornwall Police said: “At 11.55pm on Sunday the 31st of January police were notified of a road traffic collision in the Teign Valley near Sowton Mill.

“The collision involved a Daihatsu Fourtrak that was heading in the direction of Dunsford when it crossed the carriageway onto the offside of the road and continued into the offside hedgerow.

“The driver was removed from the vehicle but was unfortunately pronounced deceased a short time later.”

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene and are appealing for further witnesses.
