Police seek witness to incident in Exeter

Police in Exeter have released the image of a man they wish to identify as they believe he may have witnessed a crime in the City Centre.

Detective Constable Mark Nagle, said: “Just after midnight on Friday the 16th of September, we responded to reports of two men on bicycles in Bampfylde Street in Princesshay, Exeter acting in a threatening manner.

“One of these men was seen to point what was believed to be a handgun and threatened a passer-by.

“We managed to detain both suspects later that night and located an imitation firearm; these two men are now on police bail pending further enquiries.

“We have released the image of a man we would like to speak to as we believe he was in the area at the time, and may have witnessed this incident. He is not a suspect, and we believe the information he holds could be vital to our investigation.
