Third economic well-being survey launched
Leading local advice charity, Citizens Advice Exeter, today launches its third economic well-being survey.
The survey, in partnership with the Express and Echo, Radio Exe, Exeter City Council and Exeter Chamber of Commerce, will highlight the current financial and employment situation in Exeter. It will help Citizens Advice Exeter to highlight trends with policy-makers and to further tailor their advice and information resources to meet the needs of local people.
The anonymous survey can be found on the Home Page of the Citizens Advice Exeter website – www.citizensadviceexeter.org.uk – and is available for a two week period commencing on Monday 4th July 2016. The headline results of the survey will be published on the charity’s website in August.
Citizens Advice Exeter Chief Executive Steve Barriball said: “We regularly hear about improvements in the economy, but this is not something that a large number of our clients would currently recognise. However, following the success of our earlier surveys in September and January, we want to try and obtain a further snapshot from across the City. The results of this survey will be particularly interesting as it will be an opportunity to see if the new national living wage has had an impact on economic well-being.”
Patrick Phelvin, Express & Echo Editor, said: “We will be promoting the survey in the Express and Echo, and through our social media channels and website. I would urge as many people as possible to take part.”
Paul Nero, from Radio Exe said: “We’re interested in understanding how people in the area actually feel about the economy and how it affects them in their daily lives. This is an opportunity for people to tell us - anonymously – how they’re getting on.”
Victoria Hatfield, Exeter City Council Economy & Tourism Manager, said: “We will be encouraging staff at Exeter City Council to complete the survey, and will be promoting the survey through our social media and website channels.”
Derek Phillips, vice president of Exeter Chamber of Commerce said “We are pleased to partner Citizens Advice Exeter to promote the economic well-being survey which will help to give a more balanced perspective of the Exeter economy. We will encourage our 500 business members and their employees to circulate and participate in the survey.”
Steve Barriball finished by saying: “We are delighted that the Express and Echo, Radio Exe, Exeter City Council and Exeter Chamber of Commerce have again agreed to join us in promoting the survey to the wider community and thus providing a full picture of the economic well-being across the City.”
Paper copies of the survey can be obtained from the Citizens Advice Exeter offices in Dix’s Field, or from the Express and Echo offices in Little Queen Street.
