Witness appeal after attempted robbery

Police in Teignbridge are appealing for witnesses in relation to a robbery that occurred on Monday 25th July 2016, in the area of Bitton Avenue, Teignmouth.

Shortly before 8pm a woman, who was walking alone, was approached from behind by a man who attempted to steal her handbag, knocking her to the floor in the process.

Following a short struggle, the suspect made off empty handed, in the direction of Park Hill. The woman, age 17, suffered a slight shoulder injury.

The suspect is described as over 5’6”, wearing a black hooded top and blue jeans. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Police via 101@dc.police.uk or call 101 quoting reference CR/050979/16.
