THE GO-TO nutrition partner for sports teams and athletes across the UK recently revealed how it worked with a Devon-based business to transform its packaging to be 100% kerbside recyclable (February 2023).

Fuel Hub, which provides high protein, macro-controlled meals, designed by nutritionists, worked with Newton Print in Newton Abbot to create bespoke, premium packaging that spoke ‘Athlete Approved Nutrition’ to their consumers.

Michelle Laithwaite, Co-Founder and CEO at Fuel Hub, said: “During our third year of trading, we wanted to take on a rebrand, a whole new identity, which included new packaging and a new website.

“We worked with the team at Newton Print to develop and manufacture a new branded sleeve for our meals. To fit the brief, the sleeves needed to be efficient for a fast-moving production line and sustainable.

“We were presented with a number of different finishes including foiling, embossing and spot UV varnish, as well as different materials to ensure the highest creative output was achieved.

“Newton Print’s service has been exceptional since day one. Their efficiency is very impressive and the execution of work first class. I highly recommend Simon and the whole team at Newton Print.”

Founded in 1983, Newton Print is an approachable, friendly, forward-thinking and carbon-balanced printed packaging firm that provides a collaborative approach to client partnerships based on traditional customer relationships, married with pioneering, innovative ideas, to create successful and sustainable results.

Simon Besley, Sales and Marketing Director at Newton Print, which specialises in assisting companies with bringing their products to market on time, said: “Fuel Hub’s brand identity is solidified by the neon green and black colour palette. Neon colours are trickier to print, however we suggested the pantone 375u to create the most vibrant green that the brand envisaged. This was to be printed on the uncoated board to give a matte effect, without reducing the vibrancy of the colours. We also helped Fuel Hub find partners in label applicator industry, which goes to show the value of an extensive network.

“Fuel Hub is working hard to do its bit for the planet and reduce its carbon footprint. All of their Fuel Boxes are delivered in fully sustainable boxes with temperature-controlled wool liners and reusable ice packs. The sleeves are 100% kerbside recyclable and are produced in our Carbon Balanced production facility. For more information about Fuel Hub, please visit www.fuelhub.co.uk.”
