South West Cyber Security firm launches unique apprenticeship programme

Leading edge cyber security experts have just launched the first Cyber Security apprenticeship programme, which includes GCHQ certified courses, at Plymouth Science Park.

The course is the first of its kind in the country and its purpose-built teaching rooms were unveiled by BluescreenIT (BIT) this week.

It follows 14 years of continued growth for the company - which is fast becoming the ‘go to’ set of experts for delivering world class IT and cyber security training.

Recent investment includes offering access to £150,000 worth of state of art CISCO technology to meet the specialist requirements of the course. 

This investment enables current (and future) IT ‘cyber stars’ to test their skills with the latest technology, which, coupled with industry experienced trainers, becomes highly motivational learning tools for both entry level candidates and industry leaders who might be looking to hone their skills. 

BIT is first in the region to deliver the national cyber apprenticeship programme, alongside their other IT courses.

The programme provides industry recognised training, which is valid for two years. It also supports individuals and organisations looking to either enter the cyber security industry - or upscale existing skillsets. 

Successful apprentices gain British Computer Society qualifications as part of the programme, which is supported by GCHQ together with some of the globe’s leading names in IT security.
