Success in CILEx National Awards for family law specialists
The Family Law Company scooped a coveted award at this year’s CILEx National Awards, held at Madam Tussauds in London.
The category won by the specialist firm, Promoting Access to the Profession, recognises ‘an organisation or team whose innovative and diverse recruitment practices actively break down barriers to, and encourage increased interest in, professional legal careers, regardless of an individual’s educational achievement or socio-economic background.’
Business Development Director at The Family Law Company, Rachel Buckley said: “We are honoured to be acknowledged as a company that enthusiastically recruits employees who are not from a typical ‘lawyer’ background to start their journey into law.
“With our Board currently fifty percent CILEx lawyers and non-lawyers, we are an exemplar for providing opportunities for progression based on performance not social class.”
The award was presented to the team by the evening’s host, Claudia Winkleman.
At the same event, Director Donna Hart was Highly Commended in the Joyce Arram Memorial Award for Advancing the Legal Profession. Donna was one of only three finalists.
Rachel added: “Everyone at the company is proud of Donna’s achievement. Being recognised as one of the top three in the country is a real accolade.”
CILEx, the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, offers an accessible route to a career as a qualified lawyer and is available to those with GCSEs, A levels or a degree.
“The CILEx route to law has given The Family Law Company some of our very best lawyers. We are huge supporters of the diversity that this route encourages.”
