Wayne Hemingway MBE, co-founder of fashion business, Red or Dead, and affordable and social design agency HemingwayDesign has been announced as the keynote speaker at Plymouth Chamber of Commerce’s upcoming Annual Business Dinner.

Taking place on 15th May at St Mellion International Resort, Plymouth Chamber’s Annual Business Dinner will bring together business leaders from across Plymouth and the South West region for an evening of black tie networking, including a three course dinner and a motivational key note speech from Mr Hemingway, a well-known and well respected name in the business community.

Wayne will be talking about his rise to fame as one of the country’s top designers as well as the trials and tribulations of starting up a business from scratch and transforming it into an international success story. Having formed HemingwayDesign, with his wife Gerardine in 1981 Wayne has pursued a varied design career, ranging from the catwalks of New York, Milan and Paris with their iconic label Red or Dead, to acclaimed exhibitions at the Tate with son Jack and collaborations with British Ceramic Tiles. With over 30 years of experience in fashion, footwear print, graphics, exhibition and service design Wayne will share his story with attendees at the Annual Business Dinner and share his view that design is for common good and that design thinking can help to solve most challenges that society faces.

Wayne Hemingway MBE, said: “I am really looking forward to speaking at this year’s Plymouth Chamber of Commerce Annual Business Dinner. Events like this are crucial for the community to bring local businesses together.”

Suzi Cumberland, Events Manager for Plymouth Chamber of Commerce said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Wayne Hemingway as our keynote speaker at this year’s Annual Business Dinner. Having set the bar high with a speech by Alex Polizzi at last year’s event, we were keen to keep up momentum and with Mr Hemingway I am confident that we have secured yet another high profile and interesting speaker for businesses to enjoy. Tickets are selling fast, so I would urge anyone wishing to attend to book their tickets sooner rather than later to avoid missing out.”

Last year’s Chamber Annual Business Dinner saw TV Business guru Alex Polizzi speak to local businesses about her experiences and the art of being in business.
