Leading chartered accountants Francis Clark has added to its impressive record of professional accolades with its VAT Team being recognised as the best VAT consultancy in the 2014 LexisNexis Taxation Awards.

The firm’s VAT team, the largest in the region, comprises six members including a partner (Julie Towers), a director (Richard Staunton), three consultants (Liam Dushynsky, Becky Hayes and Keith Hilton) and a graduate training in VAT (Ross Bond).

Francis Clark Head of Tax, Steve Collins said: “We are all delighted for Julie and her team who have produced some exceptional work in recent years. A major strength of the team is its broad background comprising a mixture of qualified accountants, Chartered Tax Advisers and former HM Revenue & Customs staff.

“Members have worked both in practice and industry. This mixed background allows them to allocate the most appropriate person for each assignment and enables the team as a whole to take a multitude of perspectives which can only benefit our clients.”

Amongst their many cases, the team have recently succeeded in saving considerable amounts of VAT on behalf of Exeter Royal Academy for Deaf Education and the London College of Accountancy.

Francis Clark was the winner of the 2012 LexisNexis Best Tax Practice in a regional firm and the 2012 British Accountancy Awards Tax Award of the Year (non global firm).

The winners of the LexisNexis taxation Awards 2014 were announced at a Gala Dinner at the London Hilton Park Lane on 22 May.
