Students invited to fit care work around their studies
A SOUTH Devon care provider is calling for job seeking students in the Exeter area to get in touch as it has vacancies to fill this month (March 2020).
Guardian Homecare is looking for carers to join its teams that provide services in south Devon and says it can offer evening and weekend work to students looking to earn extra cash to fit around their studies.
Catherine Porter, Manager at Guardian Homecare, says: “We’re in urgent need of new carers to join our team and provide care to service users in the Exeter area and we can be very flexible in our approach, as care is a 24/7 activity, so we need staff at all times of the day. This represents a wonderful opportunity for students seeking an additional income as they study.
“We’re looking for caring, honest and reliable individuals to get in touch and if they are suitable for the roles we have available, then they could be undergoing training during their Easter breaks. The work we offer is ideal for students who are looking to earn a little extra cash, as we are extremely flexible and can provide hours that work around their studies.”
Guardian Homecare delivers personalised home care supporting people wishing to stay living safely and comfortably in their own homes in south Devon.
It wants to recruit more carers this year to provide care to its service users and is offering flexible and supported learning for those wishing to advance their careers.
Catherine adds: “No experience is necessary to become a carer, as we offer free, full training, which includes a company induction, first aid, information on dementia, health and safety, food safety, infection control, handling medication and moving and handling service users, with the opportunity to achieve industry-recognised qualifications after the initial six months probationary period.”
Guardian Homecare’s teams operating in Exeter are currently looking for 100 new honest and kind-hearted individuals and it is offering training and the opportunity for internal advancement. Anyone who joins the team is creating a career path using the different qualifications they can achieve.
“We’re always looking for caring, honest and reliable individuals to join our team. New recruits are given free uniforms, access to national staff discount scheme for all major brands, including holidays and electrical goods, as well as 28 days paid holiday, fully paid travel between calls and paid mileage.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking for work to help pay for their studies, or for a student interested in eventually having a career in care or a similar health-related role. As well as the welcome additional income, being a carer is an extremely rewarding job and you get to meet lots of wonderful people too.”
