Cats and kittens need loving homes
Exeter Axhayes Cats Protection Adoption Centre has loads of lovely loving cats and kittens all needing loving homes
The centre is one of the oldest Cats Protection adoption centres which opened back in 1988.
It currently re-homes approximately 700-800 cats a year.
A spokeswoman said: "We help neuter approximately 600 cats and kittens a year. Our centre is one of the largest adoption centres in the UK with about 200 cats and kittens in our care.
"Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity. Our vision is a world where every cat is treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs.
"It’s an ambitious vision.
"However, we truly believe it can be achieved because of our passion, our professional approach and simply because cats are among the UK’s most popular companion pets."
Cats Protection has simple and clear objectives to help cats:
HOMING
Finding good homes for cats in need
NEUTERING
Supporting and encouraging the neutering of cats
INFORMATION
Improving people’s understanding of cats and their care
Here are details of some of the lovely cats looking for homes.
Boo (4 year old female tortie) She's one of our long-stayers. She's been with us since June 2013.
Boo! Sorry I didn't mean to scare you! I'm just a little Tortie who needs a new home because my owner had to move into rented accommodation and couldn't take me with him. My favourite thing is being outdoors and going on adventures. I will come home and tell you all about my day and probably bring you one of my treasures back. I am a confident, independent girlie who knows about traffic. I have lived with other cats, dogs and children but I find it hard to make friends so would be happy if my future home could be just you and me. Can you find it in your heart to give me a chance?
Chard (15 year old female black) She hasn't been with us long but she's unhappy here and she's 15.
This gorgeous girl might be 15 years old but she still has plenty of life in her! She is very affectionate and lively and loves to play around outside (although a warm lap in the winter is hard to leave). Her previous owners had to move and couldn't take her with them as they thought she would be very unhappy without any access to the outside. If you can offer Chard a home please don’t hesitate to ask about her today.
Sooty – 6 year old handsome chap. Lovable rogue with lots of personality. Needs rural home with no other cats, call us for more information.
Our cats and kittens have all been fully vaccinated, health checked by our vet, neutered (over 4 months old), microchipped, de-flead and wormed. Our cats come with 4 weeks free insurance when homed. The average cost of looking after a cat in our care can reach well over £200, and this does not include any necessary treatment. To help our costs we ask for an adoption fee of £60 per cat, and any donations are gratefully received.
